With the wires now successfully in place. It was time for the easy part: hanging the fan itself. It was an extremely simple task as anyone who has done it before can tell you. I had a little interesting time since I had three feet of extra electrical wire sticking down the ceiling, but after stuffing the spare wire back up into the attic, it was just a couple of quick twist to get the power hooked up to the fan wires

Hide the wires

Attach the blades

And install the lights (hey look, someone is looking at blogger on that computer monitor)

And voila! A completed fan project. It was much to my joy that when we switch power back onto the rooms, that the light switch on the wall controlled the lights on the fan, but not the fan blades themselves (which was what I was trying to do). This way we can turn the lights off at night and leave the fan running. Total project time: about 12-15 hours. It was a lot of fun, but I'm not going back into the attic any time soon!
Here's a picture of the view of mine and Emily's room with the fan's running (not that you can tell since my flash drowns out the light and fan motion) ... and the mess that I call my work space.

Thanks SO much, Matt! The fans are wonderful, and you did a great job. I'm glad Dad said yes to the project!
Great job Matthew :)
